At The Airport

	At the airport
I am stopped by a uniformed man
with strange customs.
			Anything to declare?
I have declared everything in my poetry.
How many poems have you, sir?
		Oh, about sixty or so.
			The legal limit is ten.
You will be charged duty on the rest.
	I was charged.
He scribbled a receipt in blank verse.
I got away lightly this time,
he didn’t find the rest.
Thank goodness he did not look
	inside my head.

Dear Pascal, a poet needn't have a conventional theme. He can write on anything. The way you have turned your experience at the airport is a good example to show how even trivialities become eligible subjects for poetry. Your sense of humor is much appreciated.

Cleverly weaving poetic themes into an everyday scenario, Pascal. This piece adds humor to the travel experience. The imaginative twist makes it enjoyable and unique.

Sotto thank you for your comment and taking the time over these scribbles that lack seriousness and border on humour. I wrote this some time ago just before landing in Miami.
