The river, in her generous curves, shines blue amid the leafy green. She brings the sound of frolicking water to the percussion of the tree canopy. In this way she invites the soul to dance even when we sit absolutely still.
sometimes a river encompasses all the world as the sun goes down

This is beautiful (fave now)! I clicked here to learn about what a haibun is and found your lovely gem. Love the generous curves, percussive leaves, and the soul dance while sitting still. the length of prose is just right - an immersion in the scene without drowning in words. And the haiku part expresses that scene with appreciation.

Nice poem. I like the first paragraph, "The river, in her generous curves, shines blue amid the leafy green. She brings the sound of frolicking water to the percussion of the tree canopy. In this way she invites the soul to dance even when we sit absolutely still." You must be highly talented.

Dear Sara, Your haibun is a breathtaking journey into the serene beauty of nature. The imagery you've crafted with your words with pictures of the river's gentle flow amid the leafy green, accompanied by the soothing symphony of frolicking water and rustling trees. You seamlessly blend prose and poetry in this haibun is truly masterful. Your prose sets the scene with beautiful descriptions, while your haiku encapsulates the moment's essence with elegant simplicity. It is always a pleasure to read your poetry. - Blessings, Daniel

Dear Sara, The way you compared the often thought as of feminine characteristic of nurture to a river was so peaceful and comforting. I really liked this one of yours as you are so great with imagery in relatively few words.

awww...grateful that you found my poem soothing and homey and deep at the same time. What more could a poet ask for? I'm sure your experience with the ocean is just as magnificent as the ones I have with the nearby rivers and creeks. Grateful for you and the fav. Have a pleasant evening, hugs & blessings, Sara
