As If She Rose With the Sun
She knew how to laugh
To find adventure each day
Just a child, she loved to play
She reached out her hand
Come on let’s go, she would say
Off we ran across the land
As if it were there
Forever for us to have
To be ours everywhere
But, she did not know
She would be taken from it
Without any chance to grow
A friend left behind
No longer a hand to hold
Only her spirit, to find
Many miles to run
Searching just to hear her laugh
As if she rose with the sun
