Sonnet, ( A Sweet Spot I Once Knew )

Note : I woke this morn after dreaming of my youth and a romantic weekend spent with a beautiful lady that was deeply loved in ancient times in my life. This poem is about our favorite place back then to get away from the world and do what romantic couples do together when in the midst of a very deep and very hotly flaming love. And yes, we did marry but her drug addiction worsened and we parted company three years later.. Such is Life, some things love simply can not overcome- serious drug addiction being one of those things methinks.
This poem is about a time before the Dark overcame the Light.

As Distant Stars Blink, World Prances In Tune Upon lake waters, beyond crescent moon Glowed Dipper's horn, in the month of June Coming on gold beams, its rays splendid bright Shine before morn's rise, a glorious sight. Just as far as eager searching eye could see Heaven's past waving with inspiring glee From shore blowing breeze and whispering skies Universe above, affirming its ties. As distant stars blink, world prances in tune This vacation place, a most blessed boon With its fine fishing, soft meadows above Finely woven Nature trails, I so love. Beauty: night-sky views, soul appreciates Scenes poetry, can only imitate. Robert J. Lindley, 6-29-2019 Sonnet, ( A Sweet Spot I Once Knew And Shared ) Note : I woke this morn after dreaming of my youth and a romantic weekend spent with a beautiful lady that was deeply loved in ancient times in my life.

Vision of beauty, the description of the beauty in words - that's the task of a poet. Who but him? Nobody. Nobody but you, poet. You live and feel like there is nobody but you in this world, and rightly so.

A real love can never be forgotten Robert, even if it ends in disaster, if was aflame as some time in your life and happy memories tend to overcome bad ones, the happy ones are what our heart and brain want to retain and what we will always remember. A beautiful poem about someone you once loved with all your soul! Hugs and blessings, Jennifer.

Sometimes dreams take our minds back to another time and place. To relive the beautiful moments, so we can escape in the memories. Your thoughts are so romantic. You have placed your heart upon the page, with this note. You are right where you are supposed to be, my dear friend. Right here. My best to you. ~ Brandy

It is sad when two who are deeply in love let addiction destroy that union. This is written so beautifully Robert. I certainly wouldn't mention your dream to your wife as it would hurt her feelings. xxoo : )

Wow Robert, you are a hit as usual. I appreciated the notes about the poem, too. You just are a magical poet bringing us into breathless times. Addictions do break up relationships..some of the best in our lives. Panagiota
