Ark

"Ark" books have eyes here they sense things through the turning of leaves strange chapters they listen to small sounds loud lives lived quietly they are grounded cells measured by rings in untouchable ancient territories somewhere else, Amazonia sheds tears she cries for her children, and herself, to be saved the violator rapes her body he beats her until she is dry he doesn’t hear her he takes and takes, from her, what he thinks, is his her pain, his pleasure he undresses her the way he likes her children he mutilates and discards the bounty, his treasure the air to breathe, sullied, becomes much thinner when the soul collectors came they only saved the purest energy the books have eyes here they watch, they listen they see things unseen through other dimensions measureless to man they record his story eventually, the ancient ones ascend, with mother Gaia, her daughter Amazonia, and all creatures, their children through strange waves they take new leaves freedom to breathe they are the higher vibrations rapturously transported to the better worlds the story recorded in each book with eyes, chapters from all the leaves stripped bare, remain with the violators who now stand discarded unwanted, left behind in despair crying their tears (LadyLabyrinth / 2022) “Ocelot”/Emancipator https://youtu.be/Yn_g40iRi90 "The trees will tell their secrets to those that tune in.” Steven Magee "They claim this mother of ours, the Earth, for their own use, and fence their neighbors away from her, and deface her with their buildings and their refuse." Sitting Bull "We have enslaved the rest of the animal creation, and have treated our distant cousins in fur and feathers so badly that beyond doubt, if they were able to formulate a religion, they would depict the Devil in human form." With each reading, I understand what a great poet you are....Leanne ! Yes, our Earth is raped and mutilated and everything is being plundered from her. Man keeps taking on and on never satisfied. She sheds silent tears . But the callous man thinks that he is the victor. Once he will learn when mother Earth begins to retaliate. The story of this plunder is recorded in books and generations will come to know of it.

Thank you Valsa. That is very kind of you to say. I would be the first to admit I write some absolute dross most of the time, but every once and a while, I write something, a short story or a poem that I feel I could be proud of outside of my greatest accomplishment, which I hold most love for and the highest pride in - my daughter, Georgia. I certainly have written this poem, with all children and their futures, firmly in my mind. The majority of writing I am reading here in the consommé is cathartic, mine is no exception, and I believe many creatives and aspiring writers/poets find their true Home (their true self, hopefully their “higher” self), through their creative expression. For some it is a most painful and long journey. Ongoing dark nights, brief moments of illumination and eventually, if one does not give up on themselves, some kind of positive ‘breakthrough’ in their writing and more than likely in themselves.

With regards to your comments on this poem, I can only hope that every living creature on this planet (including Homo Sapien Sapien) survives, but this will only happen through peace and to get there, we will all eventually have to understand the concept, which many of us have difficulty in grasping, of “empathy” and also self-love for ourselves and each other as a species (the "I Am" that is I Am, perhaps this is the Christ consciousness/God we are all hoping to save us - is truly the God/Source within us, we have to save ourselves - while we wait for some 2nd coming of a Messiah - some will debate, but it certainly plays some relevant part in the religious context/ideologies - that God/the Messiah is in us and that is part of "the Waking"...food for thought, debate, belief, disbelief); it will most certainly involve all of us - humans and wildlife earth, air, sea, fauna - making a huge shift, which I believe will involve leaving this planet, in one form or another.

Some of us will make it through, to survive, whatever is coming and others will not. Some may think of the vision of Noah’s Ark, for saving our existence, but it is larger than that, this shift. Whether through the dimensional shift (that all the alternative awakening new-age tribe are touting), or off planet into the blackness of space towards future homes on other planets (which other more ruthlessly logical scientists, academics are delivering in their theoretical analysis). This is our end time Revelations. Our world as we know it, seems to be dying. I believe it is regenerating and our world, Planet Earth, Gaia however you refer to her, does not need us to survive. We need her.

As an ‘intelligent’ species we have selfishly mastered the act of destroying our physical Home. I feel what we have been experiencing with all the wars, the terrorism, the Pandemic (Covid) and other virulent diseases, the famines, the sexual exploitation and trafficking of children, hidden dark and dirty secrets within Religion and Politics, the mass dying of bird, beast and fish in sea, the devastation by wild weather, the eruptions on our Earth, and the ongoing atomic bomb testing and the ever-looming possibility of a final war making use of that terrible weapon - that this is inevitably ramping up to deliver “the” wake-up call we all sense is about to land on our doorstep (whether we are saved or annihilated by extraterrestrials/interdimensionals or swallowed by a black hole), which we are all mostly, trying to ignore in our dreams - as 'just a bad dream'. This will be Humanity’s moment of catharsis.

This is amazing, I now have a new perspective of the UFO. An ARK in the new age. Nature's conscience, witnessing. I'm bedazzled! I will study this.

I read both your comments this morning, and I have inadvertently drawn parallels between your comments about Plath's Bell Jar - which you commented in my poem, "Royal Jelly and the Hornet Helix", here in this poem "Ark"...but it still kind of works. :)

Thank you for your kind and generous thoughts Anaya - such a beautiful name you have, the meaning in Nigerian/Hebrew or Sanskrit. It makes you wonder, does it not? If only pure souls are to be saved (if we go by the “good” book), then perhaps we humans should be avoided at all costs, for we are failing miserably in the purity stakes. Not that Plath entered my mind at all while writing this, but you do make a valid point, it is an exceptional book. I would say the concept of comparing Gaia, or Amazonia to a woman and her children, well then, de Beauvoir comes to mind. But none of the female writers influenced my thoughts on this story, perhaps the video made me sit up and think a little longer and harder about what is pure and what is not.

Maybe a little of the “caverns measureless to man down to a sunless sea…” or “By woman wailing for her demon-lover! And from this chasm, with ceaseless turmoil seething, As if this earth in fast thick pants were breathing, A mighty fountain momentarily was forced: Amid whose swift half-intermitted burst Huge fragments vaulted like rebounding hail...” and when I call that story to mind, I am currently reading Xanadu in a much different light. Perhaps not the way it was meant to be read.

I do like this very much though, "Trees are poems that the earth writes upon the sky." Kahlil Gebran / All our wisdom is stored in the trees." Santosh Kalwar / We can learn a lot from trees: they’re always grounded but never stop reaching heavenward.” Everett Marmor. One tries to draw strength from Plath’s Fig Tree, but at present it is not cutting the mustard, when one considers the reality of our current world and its burning revelations. I know which fig I would choose. Warm regards, one sorry-as*ed tree hugger. Leanne.
