Are You My Mother
Her heart beat faster as she heard the first ring.
Someone might answer.
What was she going to say?
Are you my mother?
She was in this alone.
Her parents did not know she was doing it.
They acted hurt when she suggested it
And she was much younger.
Would this be a violation of their trust?
They had raised her since she was two months old.
But she wanted to hear why her other mother gave her up.
Right?
Ring. Ring. Ring.
Hello? A woman’s voice.
She did not know what to say.
She was hyperventilating now.
She hung up.
