And So It Begins
And so it begins...
not with a bang
not with a shout
not with a roar
but with his lips set
firmly, purposefully
a thin film of sweat
resting on their rim
steely eyes
jaw squared
ice water -- not blood
coursing through his veins
taut sinews stretched
to a fever pitch of
anticipation
And so it begins...
and so he may win
and so he may not...
The outcome's not his to decide
his all is to prepare for the ride
