When I stare at the empty page, And it just stares back at me, unimpressed By my inspirations, my feelings, my prayers, All the whimsical imaginings, creative Thoughts, poems and prose Listening to the music of breathless Smiles, startling joys, flames Burning up the darkness with lights Lovely reflections of God’s wonders, Muses colored in compassion, affection Encouraging the heart to believe In the soul’s dance through this world, Where we feel stardust wishes Coming to life in the moments, gasping Through the liquid soothing, comforting Alive with the memories, the blessings Poured out like rain, drizzling Insights, revelations – visions that Stir faith beyond our comprehension Believing that is the reason for creativity That blends hope with the love, the mystery Kindness, so enchanting it seems like The answer to our heart’s greatest pleas, The response of a Sovereign God, One who knows us much better than We can possibly know ourselves! When the white page glimpses The way my mind seeks His presence, The way my heart pursues Him, The way my soul chases after Him – I know what it is to believe, to trust And to put away every doubt – beneath The pen who marks out the past, The darkness, the dread – With a faith that comes to life Inside those who know that He is… The Wonder of Wonders, The King of Kings, The One who kindles fires… For the writer, the poet, the believer Who seeks Him without shyness, Seeks Him without caution, Seeks Him quietly, completely delighting In the love that only He can give, Love that comes to life inside those Who know that He is the gift to dazzle Minds, hearts and souls with the Sincerity, the serenity – the intimacy Knowing love that never gives up, Love that never lets go, Love so generous and bold It is forever stilling the anxious heart, Comforting the distressed, Raising up souls so that there is praise That conquers every doubt, Overcomes every failure, captures The soul so they will never know What it means to go into the eternal Without the One who is the overcomer, The beautiful guide through life, The welcome into paradise! Because I know Him – I write my heart Across the empty pages and delight In the joy of knowing the One who Gave me peace with His sacrifice for me And for you – He bled and died – then Rose to shine His light – His eternal smile!
