“Whether or not you’re a fan of science fiction or fantasy chances are, at some point, you’ve read a book, seen a movie, or watched a series that explored the concept of multiple universes. The idea being that within this thing we call time and space, there are other dimensions where reality differs from our own, sometimes slightly, sometimes radically. Interestingly enough, this idea is not restricted to fiction and fantasy.

In science, this is known as ‘Multiverse Theory,’ also known as a maniverse, megaverse, metaverse, omniverse, or meta-universe, a hypothetical group of multiple universes. Together, these universes comprise everything that exists: the entirety of space, time, matter, energy, information, and the physical laws and constants that describe them. The different universes within the multiverse are called "parallel universes", "other universes", "alternate universes", or "alterverses".” (Image and information courtesy of www.guardianmag.us)

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ What if I've lived the exact present I’m living now before, doesn't it make sense to think of it as though... there is another part of me in another universe, going through the same thing? Should I believe in the multiverse theory, for I cannot prove that we are not alone. Should I believe there is a reason why just because I feel the skies talking to me every night? Should I believe someone's message is reaching me through the beams of the moon every night? My skin soaks in the possibility like a flower blooming, drawn to the light. Do you ever think of a time difference between one universe and the other? What if I am born here on Earth and after I die, my soul travels to another universe and relives the same story? What if... I am a piece of my own soul which is split up and placed in different universes? Is this the stuff of science fiction, or is it non-fictional, a reality waiting to be explored?
A thought-provoking poem, Sara. Reminiscent of conversations I've had back in the seventies. Are you sure that was a lump of sugar you put in that coffee?
funny comment, Jerry...no coffee, no 'special' sugar...I'd been watching a sci-fi mini series that got me to thinking, hence the poem. I agree, it's a bit out on the edge and different from what I normally write...appreciate your visit and comments, Sara
WOW! Sara. Shake the foundations of everything I believe in. :-) They're many interesting and sometimes based on science theories. A thought-provoking poem with things to think about once we figure out how to fix the situation we find ourselves in right here and right now. Write On, my thinking poetess. Hugs, Bill
Dear Sara, your poem is truly extraordinary and awe-inspiring. The profound questioning it presents compels the reader to delve into the intricacies of parallel existence. It is remarkable how our imagination can transport us to such captivating realms. Should one possess the belief, that there exists enchantment in even the tiniest droplet of dew delicately resting upon a petal? It all boils down to the individual's perception of the world.
I am grateful, Sotto, for your in depth reading and your profound comments. I agree...our imaginations can transport us to some unique places. Your comment, "Should one possess the belief that there exists enchantment in even the tiniest droplet of dew upon a petal," touched me. I agree...one's perception is the key. Have you ever read Bruce Lipton's book, "The Power of Belief?" I read it a few years ago; my paradigms shifted drastically after having read it. Thanks for your comments and insights. Enjoy your evening, your poetess friend in Texas, Sara
Sara_ a poem that presemts ideas we mght never consider. Man cannot exist peacefully on this planet. We blame conditions on everyone else.And to me, would wreak havoc, np matter where we go? I am square, and know from God’s word ..how it began,how God gave nobody multiple souls, but He is replaced by humans? They cant get along online.even. A creative write, nonethe less..pangie xx
A very thought provoking verse Sara, sometimes when I go out on a clear night and look up in awe, I can't help but wonder what's beyond that, if man one day builds a spaceship to go beyond our universe would it end or would it keep on going, it's mind boggling for sure. Tom
thanks for your visit and supportive words, Tom. This poem was 'out on the edge' and I wondered how folks would respond to it. I agree, on a clear night, I can't help but wonder...my mind is so small...hard to grasp what's beyond...the possibilities...the stuff of imagination? Have a pleasant day....again thanks for your support...means a great deal, Sara
I've read hundreds of books on Sci-Fic and always marvelled at their originality. But these are just stories (I have a few I never posted.) I know all about parallel universes. Still, they are fiction. There is one God, one life, one judgement. Having said that I like Sci-Fic. I loved your poem and its arguments. Yours have a lot of originality in it. Loved it. Hugs.
Woah, what an astounding and breathtaking piece this is, dear Sara! I absolutely love the questioning throughout, which compels the heart to dive deep in the thoughts of parallel existence.. It's so beautiful, where our imagination can take us sometimes. If one believes, there is magic in every drop of dew, floating on the petals.. It's just a matter of how one perceives things. This poem made me think and feel so much, ah, absolutely soulful and profound in a divine way. Love your wordplay here
