All These Years
Calm comes with still waters bringing me reflective memories of you
Those visions filled with laughter to erase the pain of sudden deep loss
When I never tossed the stone, yet it sank so deeply down, out of sight
Calm is the quiet evening filled with the last birds singing goodnight
Hidden in this tranquil circling of mountains, hugging the setting sun
All this, just in time for me to dream of you once again, once again
Calm is the open peaceful field that I remember running through,
Holding hands in the tall blades of grass, blowing in soft moving waves
I still feel your hand and I feel the warmth of the serene golden hue
Shining upon me, after all of these years living on earth without you
