All In a Day
All in a day
The sunlight resumes
The children still play
And nap in their rooms
The rich are still rich
The poor are still poor
But which one is which
And which one is more
The dreamers still dream
The cunning contrive
The lazy may seem
More dead than alive
A parent still struggles
With debts that are owed
With plenty of snuggles
To balance the load
A girl and a boy
Are learning to dance
But will they enjoy
The song of romance
The laundry is done
A meal is served
The victory won
Is wholly deserved
The desert is dry
The ocean still roars
The songbird can fly
The eagle still soars
The future is bright
And love is the way
To fly like a kite
And all in a day!
