Afternoon Sun
As cold as it gets, I will miss this time of year and the afternoon sun
As it lowers in the sky and glows across the snow on the hill
Where tree shadows decorate the yard, across pure white ground
The comforting peace, that comes with the end of each day
As the sun sets in quiet solitude, creating moments to appreciate
Looking back on everything…. from morning to sweet afternoon
No leaves to block the light, shining through bare branches
In preparation for the night, to filter into dreams, this glorious sight
