After You Are Gone

A soothing calmness sweeps over my being Sounds of sweet winds of change blowing, Suddenly I feel my innermost reservations freeing Inside my heart a new rush of blood flowing, And I sense myself once again seeing Light, as clear and bright as inner light can be When I am focusing on the virtuous path, Convinced as I am that I know what’s best for me Now that you are gone, I can do the math, And I like, more than you know, being free.

To be truly free the choice has got to rest with me. To be or not to be, it's always the question. Loved the poem, Milt. Things come into form and go out of form. Change is inevitable, let it be what it is. Although there's usually a period of soulful trauma involved. Blessings, Bill

Yes, we rarely realize we are being held back till the day comes and we are alone. The appreciation of the freedom we now have finally feels wonderful. I too know this feeling. Thanks for a great poem.

Thanks. I suppose we all feel this way when someone gets out of our face!
