After You Are Gone
A soothing calmness sweeps over my being
Sounds of sweet winds of change blowing,
Suddenly I feel my innermost reservations freeing
Inside my heart a new rush of blood flowing,
And I sense myself once again seeing
Light, as clear and bright as inner light can be
When I am focusing on the virtuous path,
Convinced as I am that I know what’s best for me
Now that you are gone, I can do the math,
And I like, more than you know, being free.
