After the Rain
After the rain slowed,
It kept dripping from the leaves
As the sun shined through gray skies above
A perfect recipe for a rainbow was in the making
Somewhere, I am sure it could be seen
These tall trees surround me, in my own place
Just earlier, the cool drops touched my skin
So refreshing in the heat, with a change in the air
My mind was washed away with many thoughts
Long enough to bring relief to a busy mind
Now, the rain has slowed to a new beginning
Of light, peace and green shining leaves
