One line and it says a lot. It reflects the sadness of parting so precisely, simple and direct. Love it. At time simple writes are great and the wise ones know about it. A well deserved POTD. Congrats :) Sunita

No Gary its actually meant to be a humourous poem, some 'got it' others didn't but I am not leaving but i am genuinely saddened to see Chris Green say he's leaving and Darren taking a break and also the poem did not merit getting POTD. There are poets who write fantastic poems but they are not active on the site and not 'popular' and really should be on the list:-) hugs jan xx

Thanks Connie some people know my humour and 'got it' others thought it was for real but I am saddened it got POTD it is not a 'real' poem just one line and thre are many folks out there whose work never gets recognised as they are not 'popular poets' or active on the site.:-( hugs jan xx

I would have preferred not to get POTD for this particular poem John it is one line long and is not worthy. Sadly there are many 'real' poems that never get POTD as they get few reads as the poet is not active on the site or is not a 'popular poet' :-) hugs jan xx

Alexis I was gutted to see Chris Green say he is leaving, and Darren say he is taking a break from the site. On Friday I looked at my poets list and there are probably 30 who are no longer active on soup. Rest assured I am here to stay and the humour will continue to flow:-) hugs jan xx

I wish it had not got POTD Eve as it is not a good poem...there are many more poems far more worthy of the honour of POTD that never ever get any exposure as the poet is not active on the site. Maybe I should do 'leaving' poems more frequently as I have had more reads and comments in one day than I get in a week at the moment :-( hugs jan xx

To be honest Lin I'd rather it wasn't POTD it detracts from the fact there are some excellent poems out there that rarely get read before they disappear off the new poems page and they never ever get POTD. :-( Hugs jan xx
