Feeling crushed by the hand of fate
trust collapses, crumbling away.
And abandoned to fear and hate,
an emptiness consumes my day.
Walking blind, convinced I can see,
anxieties rip me apart.
And denying what defines me,
cascading doubts fracture my heart.
Alone, I am bullied by fears
as all my hopes and dreams depart.
And I drown in the wake of tears
when the pangs of loneliness start.
Forsaking promises of youth,
I question why my birth took place.
And as deceit replaces truth,
it's like the whole world's in my face.
Aching; yet addicted to pain,
I've been hurt by both foe and friend.
And subject to lies and disdain,
I thank God that life has an end.
