Gina McIntosh's Pantoum Contest ~ August 20, 2023

As the salty scent of ocean brine floated in the air,
on the beach, rays of sunshine warmed the sand.
The beauty of dawn made me give thanks in a prayer,
as the sky was being painted by the Master's hand.
On the beach, rays of sunshine warmed the sand.
Revealed were treasured seashells washed ashore.
As the sky was being painted by the Master's hand,
light replaced the dark mantle that evening wore.
Revealed were treasured seashells washed ashore
when morning tossed off its lovely lavender glow.
Light replaced the dark mantle that evening wore.
The rippling tide started to ebb instead of flow.
When morning tossed off its lovely lavender glow,
I was in reverence of the glorious visions before me.
The rippling tide started to ebb instead of flow
across calm waters of what seemed an endless sea.
I was in reverence of the glorious visions before me,
snow glimmering on mountains, gulls taken to wing.
Across calm waters of what seemed an endless sea,
a pod of whales breached, giving me reason to sing.
Snow glimmering on mountains, gulls taken to wing,
the beauty of dawn made me give thanks in a prayer.
A pod of whales breached, giving me reason to sing
as the salty scent of ocean brine floated in the air.
