Accept My Apologies

I’m sorry that I had to rob a bank
To buy your lavish aquarium tank
     Starkist rejects share a cell
     And Charlie’s begun to smell
Our debtors’ prison is bleak to be frank

If you can find a way to make my bail
Criminal activity I’ll curtail
     I’ll acquiesce to your wish
Bid adieu to this foul fish
And worship you like you’re the Holy Grail

I’ll never mention the credit card fees
That swelled from your holiday shopping sprees
     You’ll find I’m truly contrite
For snoring all through the night
And inadvertently cutting the cheese

Can you forgive me? I don’t deserve you
You’re the cream of the crop; I am just pooh
Thank you for pointing this out
Let’s put an end to this bout
To make reparations, I’ll ingest bamboo

Very, very biting. You write so well. This is a most enjoyable poem to read. Congratulations on your winning position in the contest. I'd like to see part II of this poem. What happens from all this 'truly contrite'ness? Is there anyway you can treat us to a part II? Congratulations Carolyn. I really enjoyed this one. Love, Deb

I don't think its a very good idea to ingest bamboo Carolyn, Ha Ha perhaps sugar cane? although you might get a bit hyperactive? all the best for the new year.

What a witty and funny write, Carolyn-- I am sure that they'd be accepting your apology-- who would be able to resist with such humor ;) btw hope you don't mind me saying there's a missing "o" in apologies in your title-- hope this helps-- hugs nikko :)

LIfe can be distraughtful at times. But when there is love and true friendship, apologies are not necessary. Forgiveness comes readily. As for the bamboo...I have heard that some varieties taste very good! It's all in the choice and preparation, I guess. This is an excellent write with strong emotion. May God bring you happiness and more understanding from those you love. Lovingly, Dane Ann
