Absolute Truth-Full Liar

A golden coin flipped into the sky One side is absolute truth the other side is stamped with lies Hope it lands right/wrong side up so you can partially realize the truth doesn’t always set you free Sometimes deception leads to wise Neither side exists without the other Truth and lies are Siamese brothers Born of necessities yet neither of them has a mother Look up look down all things can offend and bother Absolute truth or filthy clean lies there are so many things that they Father We are temporary our purpose is significant fodder so through our inequities we wander Spin the coin the image you will see is the blending of who we think we might be Witness our insanity by looking back at lying throughout history Yet there is truth hidden flickering within the spin start over finish once more begin Words alone can’t set us free Centrifugal force thinking trapped inside each possibility Rooted in our impure paternity Watch how friends become the enemy Perspectives changing depending on adversity Truthfully can anyone know who they are meant to be Rise up or see life on bended knee What is it that words hope inspire A coin can only be destroyed by fire Live life find what you desire We’re all tethered together by a hidden wire Truth or a lie lower and higher Kind or cruel or self loathing despiser We’re born of muck and mire Aspire to be a flyer or maybe just a consumed buyer Still all energy will eventually expire do it all before you tire Tell the absolute truth or if you choose be a liar! 06/25/2018 Submitted to Brenda Chiri's Abandon Poetry Contest.

Very philosophical! ( I cant believe I spelled that at this hour) However I have to disagree on one small point, coins from the Canadian mint, have truth and beauty on both sides, and they are fire resistant! Now hows that for a truthful liar!!!! :)

There is no one truth! There is a truth! It depends on our position, perspective, perception.. indeed, the other "face of the coin" is a lie! with all its interpretations and dimensions! Be yourself, who you are, what you believe in and perceive.. that's your message Richard.. in a brilliant write you have evoked a paramount issue.. a profound treat.. a very smart write! A great joy to read.. a FAV. Stay blessed always.

I believe it does although some are skillful liars. Hugs back.

Well penned, Richard: Sadly, most liars are in denial (sic) Trump. Some people extol their beliefs for the benefit of others. Liars extol their beliefs for their own benefit.

Oh yes what a wonderful experience reading this, Richard. good and evil. once we lived a life and strived to find God, today the Banker seems more appropriate.

This is absolutely brilliant and so perceptive. I believe that it applies to ever single endeavor which we would term 'business,' and that your insights have, frankly, always applied throughout the history of mankind. Bravo! (Soupmail) ~ Gershon

Powerfully penned Rick, a fabulous spin on truth and lying Rick - sadly a member of my own family is so adept at lying they believe every word that flows from their lips, good luck in the contest :-( hugs Jan xx

Very interesting, like a coin spinning you send your thoughts circulating in a 3 dimensional shape. I enjoy your abundance of perspectives when you take your pen to a subject. hugs xx

wow, lots of interesting philosophy in this one. Especially how you summed it up. Maybe we are unintentional liars thinking we know things for real that are not even real!!! Profound one, Richard.

Sometimes we choose ignorance instead of truth and use our intelligence to defend the indefensible.

Hi Richard, i am glad to be reading you again, especially on this thought provoking write. Some people find it so easy to lie. I never could, anyone would be able to tell right away i was lying. I have always loved the way you set up your poems. You make them special by the way you look at more than one side of the subject. I love the concept of this excellent work. It has to be a fave my friend. Have a wonderful weekend. Your friend always....Mike.

They say when you start believing your own lies then you're in trouble, Richard much to ponder on this deep poem of yours. Interestingly enough I was reading an article only the other day which said that lying takes more brainpower than telling the truth. People lie more convincingly if given time to rehearse their fibs. There are many great lines in your very interesting write especially this one....Yet there is truth hidden flickering within the spin. A definite fave for me to read again and ponder some more on.....Maria hugs

A lot of people wouldn't know what truth is even if it was choking them. One thing about truth is, it never changes, but lies do. Lies grow to appear truthful! Interesting

Power words indeed!! So many thoughts to ponder. To tell the truth, or believe lies. It is easy to be honest, just like it is to spread untruth. It is within each individual to make the right choice. ~ Maia (Brandy)

I was going to say this is the best thing I've ever read but wasn't sure if a white lie would lead me to lie on the other side of the coin...this is great Richard
