Oh, absent autumn, how long must I wait As you linger behind summer's farewell Lost in green, your hues of amber abate This October is too bashful a belle Why this reluctance to blaze, to excel? Dear November, all the year I aspire To taste the embrace of your cooler fire Yet the skies reach too high, the sun too stern Allow me the smoky dawns I desire The crisp vibrance of your scarlet return 10/21/22

"This October is too bashful a belle", such a great line. I'm sure you won't have to wait much longer for your smoky dawns, cooler fires, and hues of orange. Scintillating writing, dear sibling, congrats for your win ~ John

I love "this October is too bashful a belle" and "to taste the embrace of a cooler fire." Those lines especially, altho the entire poem is beautiful. I really like the Dizain form, too. I think it ties a poem together so well. Good luck!

"Dear November, how long must I wait, to taste the embrace of your cooler fire ?" Not long, it seems, as cooler temps begin to taut and tease. This is a beautiful poem about Autumn's tender touch. Many wonderful blessings to you, Michelle. :) Hugs, Brandy
