Boy Flying Kite ~ Photos ~ Creative Market

I had an idea, the wind was just right It was just enough to lift up my kite I'm hoping it will last 'til early night It is so much fun when it's a long flight When the wind blows hard, I hold the string tight And when it's gusty, it takes all my might The sky is clear the sun golden bright When it shines like this, my kite's out of sight The sun is sinking, there's not much daylight Rolling in the string is now my last plight When I ride my bike home, I'll need my light A kite flying day ... a young boy's delight

Great monorhyme on kite flying, Bill. We did our share of kite flying years ago too. We always had such a good time with it. Have a restful evening, poetry friend. ~

Your poem was a sheer delight to read. The monorhyme scheme was perfect...I love the cadence of your poem and the fact that reading it conjured up my childhood days of kite-flying (of which they're weren't many)...the freedom, the joy, the delight still lives in my heart and your poem lightened my heart this evening. Thanks for your gift of words, dear Bill...hugs, me
