A Winter Cemetery
Listen to poem:

Snowflakes fall; I break down,
at his grave I lay one rose on the ground-
Winter seems to be here,
frigid air with no cheer,
I see a fawn lost deer, *
she quietly looks at me with no sound. *
*
Is she lonely like me? * *
Should I just let her pitiful self be? *
I may go caress her,
feel her comfy soft fur,
but my eyes all a blur.
She should be frolicking happy and free.
Grieving all freezing night,
somehow this anguished pain just doesn’t feel right-
* I sense a connection,
* * to the doe’s affection,
* our strong bond, perfection.
* I feel so close yet I'm too far for sight.
*
* *
We’re kindred friends combined, *
adoring spirits so toilsome to find- *
Maybe I can let go, *
with the help of my doe, *
she’s the mercy I know…
but this cold Winter has been so unkind.
