Hahaha I would have thought that for sure! Luckily I finally took a REAL bowling class in college when I heard this term for the first time. None of my family was any good at bowling obviously.

ha! very good! someone once told me that they used to hand out turkeys in bowling alleys to anyone who got three strikes in a row, which is how it got its name. not sure if that's true or not...

So is a 'strike' when they knock down all the pins (not much of a bowler, obviously!)
