looks like you do it in a haiku type of way ( I see this had a POTD) Belated Congrats

Thank you:) (The other comment thread has now been removed) To illuminate the point made: Yes, tanka uses no capital letters (except in the case of proper nouns), and no or little punctuation - similar to haiku. That is where the similarity ends as tanka is NOT an extended haiku.

Wonderful Tanka, Suzette:I missed Congratulating you on your POTD honour. Makes me wonder if this lonely palm had once been part of a rainforest that has been cleared around it. I love how trees reflect climate conditions in their growth patterns. SuZ A definite Fav.

Yes, we call them ‘characters’ for a reason. I guess these become, in our minds- characters of the tree world.

I've been thinking that the survivors, the ones that life had knocked about, stand out - more so than the painted "heroes".

I had this religious period in mind when I wrote this, with the tree, synonymous with The Tree. It is unusual to have Ramadan, Passover and Easter coinciding as they are this weekend. Thank you for reading and your kind comment, Belle. Easter blessings for you as well.
