Thank you:) (The other comment thread has now been removed) To illuminate the point made: Yes, tanka uses no capital letters (except in the case of proper nouns), and no or little punctuation - similar to haiku. That is where the similarity ends as tanka is NOT an extended haiku.

Wonderful Tanka, Suzette:I missed Congratulating you on your POTD honour. Makes me wonder if this lonely palm had once been part of a rainforest that has been cleared around it. I love how trees reflect climate conditions in their growth patterns. SuZ A definite Fav.

Yes, we call them ‘characters’ for a reason. I guess these become, in our minds- characters of the tree world.
