A Tiny Flag

A Tiny Flag There rests a tiny flag in my garage, That will fly from my yard on the 4th of July. As much as it will stand for Old Glory then, It will be remembered more for its giver. The tall sweet man with gentle ways, Who with three brothers fought for his country, Who exampled Freedom by living Freedom’s life, The good son, brother, father and husband. In his fantasies, he might have wandered somewhere, But his faith, his love, made him choose to be “free.” “Free” from the ugliness of some other men, A man who fought for, and gave reality To the tiny flag in my garage.

This was really nice my friend. A wonderful tribute to some who were brave and gave their all so the rest of us could be free. This was great.
