A Time to Reflect
Perfection as a goal demands correction;
accepting mistakes requires some reflection.
Call me a square if you like but I'll admit
when it comes to my money, you need a permit.
Simplicity puts tender in the kitty;
humility builds reckoning, quality.
It can be smart to start with "I am sorry,"
then move on to square up the damage, no hurry.
Treating others as fellows means no cheating;
meeting with candor - never self-defeating.
Allowing for the factor of playing fair,
the product of two equal terms becomes a square.
If you owe me something, I won't cause a rift.
Swift resolution counts, I am no spendthrift.
Square dealings focus on making all sides straight;
such practice can eliminate distrust and hate.
