A Thousand Years

We don’t have a thousand years ahead of us To visit Istanbul, or the streets of Damascus, We don’t have a thousand years ahead of us, To eat a banana split in Oregon, To say "I love you" at a summer garden, To say “I love you” to a crazy star, We don’t have a thousand years ahead of us, To enjoy strawberries with cream, We don’t have a thousand years ahead of us, To leave school and its pink paintings To give flowers to our joyful girlfriends, A thousand years to understand, all our weaknesses.

Thought-provoking ideas here, yann... Perhaps this could be a bucket list for those who have at least 15 years ahead of them... I'm headed for the 'Oregon Trail' and some ice cream myself!

Our time on earth is limited. We don't have thousands of years ahead. So we should enjoy every moment at hand. Beautiful poem Yaan !
