A Simple Pleasure
Loving this quiet and rainy day
My face pressed to the window pane
I watch the water dripping, dripping
Gathering in rivulets down the lane
To be alone is for me a pleasure
The only voices heard are in my mind
No worry, no need for any pretense
A certain sense of peace I always find
So blessed to be warm and safe inside
Today no place I would rather be
A warm cup to hold and a good book to read
Just these simple pleasures given to me….
