A POETIC ORPHAN

She sits alone
Shunned by those that rhyme
With sublime
Ridiculed by the raucous
And bellicose
For of all the words
It is said
She is the only one
That doesn’t rhyme
With anything.

She has ceased defending
Her presence
In the molten shades
Of breaking dawns
Her streaming brush stroked
Sunsets
She often sits alone
Amid the seasonal splendor
Of a New England Autumn
Shuffling through the rustling
Shades and shadows of her self.

She knows who she is
And that she does rhyme
For to rhyme
Is to blend easily
Seamlessly take center stage
Without seeking applause.

She seeks no curtain call
Only the crest of sunrise
Act one, Scene one

She's simple, yet amazing in every way ! No reason to defend, when you're content. * Always be true to who you are * I soooo admire her attitude. Congratulations John, on Poem of the Day. My best to you. :) Hugs, Brandy

Congratulations, Dear John, on your brilliant poem as POTD. This is a question often comes to my mind too - to rhyme, or not to rhyme. For me, free verse wins, although I envy those poets who rhyme so effortlessly! Best wishes, John ~

Congrats John, fo POTD! your poem resonates deeply. The solitary journey of the unrhymed words speaks volumes. The imagery of a poetic soul navigating the seasons and self-discovery is beautifully crafted. Bravo on capturing the essence of authenticity and embracing the sunrise without applause. - Blessings Daniel!

Shades of Emily Dickenson here, a New England loner. Or perhaps a pugnacious protagonist sequestered in her room and world. A splendid painted picture of a poet's musing's, John Lawless. Congratulations on POTD! Brilliant

A showstopper John, (orange) hues can have that effect on us, definitely too good a word to have any direct rhyme, Congratulations on a wonderfully crafted POTD, cheers David
