A Passing Moment of Sadness

To feel a tear upon the flesh which moves me in quiet quivers To dream and remember in wistful memory Could that I look into your eyes again feel the melody of my heart before it trembled How silent the world when love vanishes and memories hang in the gallery of the mind looked upon in dim realms of flickering moments when the heart cries and the mind comforts with portraits of yesterdays that float away tumbling through the dark like windblown leaves I grow tired as my soul falters and I fall upon the empty floor of time in the gloom of melancholy 3/8/19

oh that wistful age old song and you match its melancholy in your words, Frederic.

"memories hang in the gallery of the mind"...this is such a poetically beautiful line in your melancholy poem. I love the comparison of your memories to paintings in an art gallery. It gives the image of a dark gallery with a dim light shining over each memory as a painting of a shared moment with loved one. Nicely written, Frederic.
