A Note In the Wind Nw

I sent a note in the wind with all the things I couldn't say Because, you were suddenly taken from me Leaving me with all the chances I had As I was not expecting such a tragedy to hit You had done things for me more than anyone Worthy of my gratitude more than any time passed Memories tear through my heart at times like lightening bolts Jolting me from the present, reminding me that you are gone But, the wind keeps on blowing and it will take my note Whether or not you see it, I will know beyond tomorrow, My words are released to be carried to your heart, That could always understand what I have to say And that which holds such meaning is never too late Heidi Sands 10/24/22 Placed 3rd in the Note in the Wind Poetry Contest.
