A Native American Song

with the seasons they were in tune worshipping the sun and the moon living with their mother the earth brothers with the fox and the bear with whom the same habitats share rejoicing at each year's new birth with the season they were in tune worshipping the sun and the moon until the white man came ashore changing their world forever more living with their mother the earth rejoicing at each year's new birth with the seasons they were in tune worshipping the sun and the moon 10/3/14 For Dr. Ram's contest

what a great song for the native americans. It read a lot like a triolet for me, I think for its lyrical quality. Congrats, Barb.

Dear LNC, You gave me chills with this poem. I could feel the sadness of the Native Americans, whose lifestyles were forever changed by European invaders. It touched me deeply. (The New Jersey Devils are also the state's ice hockey team.) Please email your address to me so I can send a Christmas card to you. I may have to go to stay with my sister. Love, Carolyn

The Native Americans were living in harmony with mother nature and were in contact with the great spirit till the barbarians arrived! A very impressive homage to the "Indians" the people that to Nature's eyes were so civilized! Excellent poem, dear Barbara, good luck on the contest!
