Poet’s note
Inspired by my son’s visit to Venice last weekend. A little poetic licence I knew he’d arrived but it’s taken him 3 days to let me know he’s back home safely – grr kids!!! Son isn’t called Dennis, perhaps I should have rhymed Venice with menace!
Son why don’t you call and tell me you’re fine;
I am out of my mind with the worry.
Fun are you having ... just drop me a line;
why not text, words could fly in a flurry.
Hun, please contact me, just give me a sign
sigh...what’s it with kids, mine does not hurry!
Today you sent me photos of Venice
Hooray you’ve arrived - I’m relieved Dennis!
