A Matter of Infinity

In the middle of the night I wonder Pondering what truly matters Entertaining notions of afterlife The hours the months the decades A lifetime on earth is but a speck Lost in an infinite galaxy of stars The illusion of time standing still For our significant life of earth May be a riddle a joke a satire The tears the joys played out Confined within oceans of melodrama Lost in the grand scheme of the universe Theatrics bubbling and churning Might we be unlikely amusement For some mysterious audience I like to imagine spectators cheering Every time the spirit amid the rubble Creates beauty love and compassion AP: 2nd place 2020 Submitted on February 12, 2020 for contest STRAND SELECT N sponsored by BRIAN STRAND - HONORABLE MENTION

Love it, Line! Especially the last stanza, a new & original take on being watched, & for the best reasons! Butterflies would stop being flighty & beautiful, if they pondered infinity & they lived barely a month, two for some species only. shalom, shalom & Happy Valentine's Day

creative and wonderful thoughts, especially at the end. Did you ever see Rod Serling's Twilght zone episode when at the very end, we see the humans are underneath some kind of microscope or something being viewed by creatures of another planet. That is what this reminded me of. I sure do hope the afterlife is what I expect it to be. I am putting lots of faith in medium tyler henry, who supposedly talks to those behind the veil!! Love that kid!

Ah, the search for meaning in life, in our daily actions. The search deepens as we age... Thanks for the food for thought, Line, Gershon
