A Matter of Infinity
In the middle of the night I wonder
Pondering what truly matters
Entertaining notions of afterlife
The hours the months the decades
A lifetime on earth is but a speck
Lost in an infinite galaxy of stars
The illusion of time standing still
For our significant life of earth
May be a riddle a joke a satire
The tears the joys played out
Confined within oceans of melodrama
Lost in the grand scheme of the universe
Theatrics bubbling and churning
Might we be unlikely amusement
For some mysterious audience
I like to imagine spectators cheering
Every time the spirit amid the rubble
Creates beauty love and compassion
