Lull-lull-lull-a-by, my dear.
Summer’s sun sinks low,
rosy-streaked behind the hills;
hear the soft wind blow.
Lying on the velvet grass
by this gentle stream,
let the song I sing for you
bring a lovely dream.
Feel the warm breeze on your skin
and your face so fair.
How it lingers, like my hands
which caress your hair.
Sun is jealous in his sky,
vanishing from view.
When he leaves, he cannot be
shining down on you.
Birds are singing in the trees
with my lullaby.
Soft winds blowing, streams flowing.
Let your worries fly.
Let them fly away from you
to the rising moon.
Darling, you are safe with me.
Sleep is coming soon.
Simply close your pretty eyes.
Always know that I
will be here. My love, my dear,
Your sweet dream is nigh.
