A Fool's Heart
To be used like the wretched fool I am
And fill your empty needs as lovers do
You plucked my love in bloom, my heart be damn
As my innocence was easy to subdue
Your fiery eyes claimed a love so blind
And rendered life a wondrous wish filled dream
How fresh love was with hungry smiles so kind
Your thirsty kiss was just a quenching theme
To track each furrow in my heart of pain
And steal my pride you throw away as waste
To bury it in your sleep with disdain
As though I was only another face
Not love but need nourishes your love's fire
As I was a fool from your desire
