A Covid Memory
"Fragments and crumbs of life, all the little pieces"
John Ruskin, 1853
After my niece went
my son sprayed sanitizer all over
It's perfume got into my nose
I felt very uneasy
He had learnt this from his sister and I hate copying without thinking
Sat by his side and told him just because your sister does
you should not copy
Always use your brains
think and act
Did your spray kill all germs?
It only made me sick
If I became sick who will cook?
My son cried "I didn't mean to make you sick. I am sorry if you felt uncomfortable.
I am scared that you or father will get covid and die
If that happens I will be the only sufferer."
I was overwhelmed with emotions
How much fear he was living with
How much mentally troubling it must be
I cried along with him
You are right son. Absolutely right!
Prevention is better than cure
I promise you, henceforth I will take utmost precautions
and follow social distancing norms when I go out
I not only promised him but made a resolve
I will try my best to ensure I don't get covid
I owe it to him.
