2018, the Good Old Days

2018, The Good Old Days Come 2035 and you will hear Grandma and Grandpa in their tubular porch swing, “Remember Iphones and lap top computers? And telephones that vibrated and didn’t ring. Invisible lasers are so sublime, Turn them off or on by thinking in mime, Call up a drink, but still must pick up, When you’re through, just pulverize the cup. Oh, back in those days we picked up “fast food,” Took up so much of our time, We even went to a grocery store, And stood and stood in a long long iine. Now we have printouts we just put in a box, And a no-wait hot plate what doneness to tell, In a shake there’s no steak for Non-vegetarians may go to h…. Back in the day we sprinkled our own flowers, Now solar rations soakers and sunlight Remember when rains came uninvited?, Before climate control from a new tech site? Ah, yes, the good old days before perpetual clothes, Just pick them from a closet screen that glows, No more beauty shops like in those old days, Just pat our heads and think up the waves. Remember when there weren’t clones of folk or pets, Now we just send specs through the new sun-fed-net. Let’s just rock and remember the good old days, When we made our babies the old fashioned way.
