heartbreakingly sad indeed Anne-Lise I know many have passed from covid without loved ones by their side. One of our specialists spent his days off with covid victims when family were not able to be with them at the end:-( am moved to tears my friend:-( hugs Jan xx

Love the picture along with the poem. Covid indeed has made life quite sad. Unfortunate how even in old age and especially then how life still can be so difficult. I volunteered with my church to read the bible at a senior facility. The leader stopped at Christmas time. I love them all and hope they’ve been doing alright. God bless them all!

The last line made a furrow in my heart, because they took my wife away and on the way to hospital, she died. I could not be near her. But I know she is taking care of me. A lovely poem. ~~

AnneLise, here stateside, the old are left alone with no visitors. I have seen them, staring into space. Years ago, the elderly stayed with family. Now they are institutionalized. I saw how my Mom was treated in one after a broken ankle. I said she is not staying HERE. I fought to get her out. It wasn't easy being her nurse 24/7. She later had strokes and heart attacks. I did CPR. Then I had to tube feed her, bathe her, Clean the catheter, etc. hospice nurses came by.Death behind glass? Sad.
