1st place in the contest

An late ebony night with trembling notes gurgling sounds from moist throats Where pickled cucumbers shrink in a jar a lost night, no glow of heaven's stars A multitude of creepy and muttering ghosts haunts houses and churches to find their hosts With rubber muscles and warty feet imagine crawling down the cobblestone street Whether you come or you leave, death smells close Do not feel guilty it was just your time I suppose Their shadows, with the evil hand of chance never be tempted to join the dance

I can imagine the horror of this night. A dark poem with ghosts dancing, well in tune with the spirit of Halloween. Congratulations on your top win dear Anne.

The word choice is a wonderful melodic rhyme yet traces the dark subjects such as a multitude of muttering ghosts. What an interesting contrasting technique! Enjoyed reading.

This is such a deep and dark poem. I love the imagery and what you’ve delivered here in such a poetic manner! Truly impeccable.i am loving the rhymes and also how you’ve written “ a lost night, no glow of heaven's stars” fits also the mood of halloween right now! A very creative take on imagine, one i wouldnt have imagined . You’ve got me to imagine. Love it. Goodluck for the contest
