In a brief retrospective with melancholy eyes September with the dominant color, under the leaf falling moon Never forget the smell of spring and flowering a freshness of love The sleeping earth of winter waking up under the sun warm kisses - never too early His rain-washed face and cool breaths in autumn weather Season of mists fades in the west - brooding over death

Anne, the title invited me to read your poem Anne Lise and it didn't disappoint... contrasting mood which further highlights the ending being cold, chilly.. :) , Olive

“Leaf falling moon” wow absolutely love that phrase and many more depicting seasons and how time fades as colors reflect melancholy! What a deeply moving and soul stirring poem! You write always so well and paint imagery in such creative manner! Somethings like freshness of spring remains amidst all! Pleasure reading you today! Sending you light always

This is a beautiful poem of Autumn's first month. Winter does seem like a time of death. I enjoy these words.

This piece really moves in the essence of melancholy and the flow of time ~ I felt so many poignant emotions accompanying your words as my eyes traced the succeeding lines..So incredibly heart-touching and crafted in an eloquent way. I especially love how you've written "under the leaf falling moon", "The sleeping earth of winter waking up under the sun" Such intriguing wordplay throughout. Wonderful to be reading your words after a very long time, coming back here slowly..Sending best wishes!

You capture the northern part of your country in splendid imagery. In Malta it is still warm despite the occasional shower. Hugs.
