Next Generation

Alas! Alas!
Season near past…
Age all but gone,
youth comes waddling
on our heels along: new lingo, with
movements, though awkward
youthfully strong – Alas! Alas!
Fogies must step aside~

gracefully-move-on….

Indeed, a new generation is coming close to our heels with a new lingo, we can't follow. It is time for the fogies to step aside. Let us not stand in their way. Let us gracefully move on. Beautiful poem that holds much meaning in the contemporary setting.

We really have no choice, nature will see to that. So, I chose to do so gracefully, with the class Faith allows me. Blessings my friend.

Fogies must step aside…lol! The problem we have is wanting to tell stories over and over, when a young adult has their own story…let them tell it…lean in…don’t compete!

You're a youngster compared to me. Yes, let them speak, feel that they have something interesting to say...even though they mostly don't:))

A little tonic and gin does help. Hmm...maybe I have to rethink things, Trump making a mark in his old age.... Putin figuring, he's beyond his prime now anyway...why not take the world apart with his descent? If he can't rule the world, then no one will (lunatics wanting legacy) -- maybe old age is the most dangerous? Most influential. Old timers in positions and with means to do great good or harm. Got to rethink this poem.

As the song goes...faces, places changing...but attitudes? I mean, the kind that keep messing the world up...hmm? Thank you, Bill. 2000 years of changes...I wonder?

well said, Joe! Tis true, we have to let the youth have their 'day' so to speak; we can graciously and humbly step aside and be observers...that's kind of cool. wishing you a pleasant evening, Sara

Yep. Not much else we can do -- a forced test as to whether we truly have faith in a Higher, benevolent power. Easy to talk the talk...but are we able to gracefully, comfortably....

Nicely done, Joe... even if I barely stumble out of the way myself. ~ Fogey w/out a stogey

Hi Gershon; comes a time...when there really is nothing else we can do -- that is a true test of Faith...and love.
