This weeks Guest poet is the talented Andrea Dietrich, and yes as far as Guest poet of the week, I am far behind, and part of the blame falls to her! With such a volume of poetry, took quite a while to read and decide on which poems to feature. I kept changing my mind daily because there was simply to much material to choose from, and then decided, enough is enough, I settled on these poems, and hopefully they would wet the taste buds for people to go and read more of her works!

To be honest, I have been expecting Andrea's name to come up for this honour. She has been one of my fav poets from the start of my presence on Soup. She is talented, versatile, goes out of her way to encourage others, and is such a positive person. Well done Arthur...congrats Andrea:)

Arthur and Andrea, how beautifully you have shared some of Andrea's poetry with pictures and bio and it is a celebration of the beautiful and talented person she is. Andrea, having known you for so many years I was delighted to see this blog highlight some of your poetry and you as the great talent you are and a special person and dear friend in my life. Connie, I am so glad that I met you all those years ago. You are the one person through all the years that I have known the longest and who has not "disappeared" on me. May you and I enjoy each other's work for many years to come. You have done more for poets than anybody else I have ever known! (Marie too, but she went and left the poetry world!)

Ha!! Yeah, that was a stretch, wasn't it? And HOW old are you, Arthur? hee hee (Arthur may be fairly young. I don't remember his age, but I have a daughter that is going to be 40 this year.. YIKES. It's a weird feeling, charma, to know your daughter is getting up there in years!!)

Arthur I so love you for featuring Andrea.She is one of the best poets not on ps only , but in my opinion in the whole world. I do believe her poems are her children cuz I can feel her love and bond transmitted through each one of them . Awesome Andrea - keep shining :)

I can't wait to read what you have chosen for the featured poems . I was a total novice when I joined soup in Feb 2014 and have learned so so much from Andrea. Andrea has always been a source of inspiration and encouragement to me. I always find a poem from her vast repertoire to help me along in attempting new forms or styles. I have learnt a lot from her, and always read her poems, one at a time, and in no hurry, to savour each one of her gems. I intend stretching out my pleasure!

Andrea is the one poet here that has helped me the most since I joined the site. She is a talented poet and I have been blessed to have her as a friend. She is a good person and is incredibly forgiving.

and I need to add one last thing. My latest book Prosies is not sold any more. Marie Summers discontinued the sale of all chapbooks a long time ago. It was a sad day for me. Before Poetry Soup, my poetry home was ShadowPoetry.

Arthur, thanks so much for letting me know this was here tonight! This made my day (well, the end of it anyway!) So funny what you said about my "adopted sons" and it was exciting to go see the poems you chose to show of mine. Three of them are ones that I might have picked myself because they have personal importance to me. MY Poems are Children to Me was written when I was just starting out, around 2001. At that time, I had only 50 poems to my name!! I truly would go back to my album again and again to read them. I don't have time any more to do that. I have become a bad mother to my poems and have let them run wild in my desk drawers!! Thanks for showing also An Angel and Summer's Child.

The first year I was here I was trying to figure out me, figure out what I wanted to say, how I wanted to say it. I knew I had had something to relate to others but just wasn't sure how yet.
