Greetings fellow poet's and Poetry lovers! I found you about a month ago I believe and have posted all my previously written poems as well as a few new ones. I've enjoyed getting feed back so much!!! As well as reading your beautiful words of poetry. It might make some feel unworthy when seeing the standard of poetry here, but I fight that and remember that everyone behind somewhere. I've only recently written, after years working with children, I took a sabbatical. I finally found time to write! I'm 47 years old, married 17 years, and we have a teenage daughter as well as a son who Awaits us in the next life. I write music and lyrics, play the ukulele, and sing. I sew and craft, and write poetry now too! That's me in a nutshell. I look forward to reading more of your work and hearing from you. God bless, Crystol Woods

Surrender inner self to
One’s heart desires and love
Forever cherish

Bound by desire, in the heat of the night,
Lost in the ecstasy, of our love's sweet flight.
Your touch, a fire that consumes my soul,
In your embrace, I lose control.
Submitting to you, I find my release,
In the whispers of pleasure, my worries cease.
Submissive wife, to your every command,
In the realm of passion, we both understand.

The Palm in One’s Heart
It's a heartwarming and loving memory.
There’s a glow in one’s face,
As one looks at these roads
Traces this memorable place
And reminisce about the unforgettable day.
Remembering then the flowers swayed in the air,
With varieties of colors; blooming everywhere
Pine trees so high, numerous as ever,
It made this place so cool and tender.
Walking along this sloping hillside
One's heart beat fast, as they stood side by side
Within smiles, happiness and peace linger
They gazed at each other, seemingly speechless.
Sitting on this lovely bench,
With drops of rain drench
Telling stories that amazed oneself
Enjoying one another seems endless.
At last, you turned to one and gazed deeply
Lifted one’s hand, and caressed it gently,
Put thy hand in your heart
And close your eyes slowly.

Hi all! I just wanted to say hi to everyone and I am so excited to have joined this forum to get feedback and read other people's work. I am fairly new to writing poetry and still figuring a lot of things out so please be gentle (as the title of this forum suggests)! Thanks in advance!

7=1
It's first on the page, last in the mind
Anticipation kills the calm,
And then it comes, the beginning unwanted.
F*cking cyclical.
It's a little easier next, but we are still stuck fast
In this arbitrary world, time on a track made of dollar signs.
The middle is a place we can handle,
the comforting balance of a scale
then suddenly tipped in our favour,
one foot lifted from the quick sand breathes at last.
And we're there, the destination arrives,
the last in a vicious, uncaring sequence.
A night of possibilities, that seems endless,
opens and stretches like the limbs after a long car ride.
The moon rises and we are free.
One day to live, to do all, be all.
Perhaps this is why they say life is short.

My entire life I've been drowning in a darkness
As a little girl I begged to be loved: Nothing more nothing less
I kept telling myself it will be better when I am grown
But those demons stayed with me never leaving me alone
I stay exhausted from this struggle with in me
Fighting to hide all the pain, the fear, and the anxiety
Living on self hate
Music is my only escape
Reclusive and withdrawn
It's just safer to be alone
Trying to learn to love myself
Tired of pretending to be someone else
The demons won't allow me to heal
After 42 years they have me drowning still
Sitting on my shoulder whispering in my ear
Tears roll down my face at the words I hear
I fall to my knees crying out please let go of me
I beg the demons I scream at God just let me be
They are unwilling or I'm undeserving I guess
So the demons keep me down in this darkness
Living on self hate
Music is my only escape
Reclusive and withdrawn
It's just safer to be alone
Trying to learn to love myself
Tired of pretending to be someone else
The demons won't allow me to heal
After 42 years they have me drowning still
Hours later I'm up off the floor wiping away my tears
Staring in the mirror pushing down all the pain and fears
Hiding it all I Put on my makeup and I walk out the door
So no one will be able to tell I was just curled up crying on the floor
Friends and family are clueless of the war with in
They've never been on this battlefield and don't understand
Living on self hate
Music is my only escape
Reclusive and withdrawn
It's just safer to be alone
Trying to learn to love myself
Tired of pretending to be someone else
