What to Submit?
1 original poem on the theme of "The Poet's Heart" ... submit to me, please, your FAVORITE write. No mystery here - I want to know which of your personal poetic creations is your most cherished or prized, for ANY reason. It may represent most who you are as a poet, or something/someone who is very dear, or may even have been written at a time that is very dear to you ...
This may also include a piece that is very dark, but that was the most cathartic and mind-expanding, or brought the most healing. Your most beautiful, ugly, endearing, whimsical, musical, enchanting, or possibly the poem that says the most about who you ARE, or what poetry means to you. If you like, you may add a note at the bottom as to WHY this particular work is your favorite, but it is not required.
PLEASE don't hold back or submit something you think I may like ... I want YOUR favorite, period. I love EVERY style and form, including dark, sensual, and sci-fi ... also children's, introspective, it makes no difference - YOUR favorite! Creativity and imagination should have no bounds, and I personally try to stay open to EVERYthing, (except the graphically obscene or violent). Any form is acceptable ... even something new that you think may become a favorite.

Preparing Your Entry
Submit one copy of your poem online. Format your poem. Please make your entry easy to read — please INCLUDE pictures or illustrations, if you like - fancy fonts are fine, too!
English Language
Poems should be in English. Poems translated from other languages are not eligible, unless you wrote both the original poem and the translation.
A Note to Poetry Contestants
This is my first contest here at Poetry Soup, so no worries as to previous contests. This is about favorites anyway, so I would imagine it might be something you have entered in other contests. NO LIMITS - your most shining gem ... or the treasure closest to your heart. Thank you!
