Contest Description
What to Submit?
PLEASE, CAREFULLY READ THE FOLLOWING PARAGRAPH:
1 new, original, not previously published poem on the theme of YOUR VISION FOR THE U.S.A. IN THE COMING YEAR, 2021.
Poems must be labeled Free Verse. They may have an occasional rhyme, but no planned, repeated rhyme scheme. Poems must be limited to no more than 14 lines.
Prizes
First Prize, $20.
Second Prize, $15.
Third Prize, $10.
Ten Honorable Mentions, with no cash prizes.
Preparing Your Entry
Submit one copy of your poem online. Format your poem. Please make your entry easy to read — no illustrations or fancy fonts. At the bottom of your poem, do NOT list your name; however, you must show your mailing address (in the Continental United States only) to receive your cash prize.
English Language
Poems should be in English. Poems translated from other languages are not eligible, unless you wrote both the original poem and the translation.
A Note to Poetry Contestants
You are welcome to enter this contest, whether or not you won a prize in one of my previous contests.
