The People For Each Other

No more digging the graves
For the victims of a virus
Sent from hell to torture us.
An economy falling apart,
So many out of work
The helpless find no hope, no rest.
Riots and hate.
Tears shed and blood spilled.
Let us rise as one.
One fresh and new.
One with each other.
May we banish the shade.
Let us live under a new sun,
For a brilliant new work has begun.

David, I am so proud that your poem rose to third place in my poetry contest. Something to crow about, since there were so many fine entrees. Keep up the good writing. Your check will be in the mail in the next few days.
