Wild Animal Contest Judging it and other contests

When I start a contest I pick a theme for it, set what form I want it to be. I then choose the lenght unless the form sets it.

So check you have followed these guide lines for they are set in stone. I disqualify any poems that do not follow the rules as the onus is on you!!! to check.

I then move on to how well the poem reads and flows. Also how well it is written. If good enough I move it on round 2.   

Now its a matter of comparing the remaining to each other and selecting the best ones.

I always judge blind and tend not to read other poems during the judging process as I do not want to know who has written what. Someone new to Soup is as likely to win as someone that has been here for years.

After all a lot of thought goes into writing Your entry and it must be galling to feel that someone else has won with a poem of poor quality.

Finally I have decided not to include Bird or Fish poems as they are not animals but will run a wild bird contest next as there were some lovely ones entered NOTE WILD BIRDS. ONLY not caged
