Upcoming Enhancements to PoetrySoup and New Features

Hey Soupers, we just wanted to give you a heads-up on some upcoming enhancements to PoetrySoup and new features.

On the top of the list is extending the block poet feature. Many Soupers have asked not to even see the blogs, etc. of people they’ve blocked (or blogs in general). ~~This new feature is in the works. We are working out some technical difficulties but should have it, at the very latest, within the next two weeks!!! Woo hoo!!!~~

UPDATE: The Block Poet feature NOW extends to hiding blogs on the home page. You must be logged in for this feature to work .

Here are some other features that are on our list to be added:

Incorporation of moderators chosen from within the Soup community.

Sister website opt-out (If it uses PoetrySoup poems)

New Sister websites! Many have asked to be able to post spoken word or audio versions poems. We may make this a separate website or add a section to PoetrySoup.

My friend’s page. This page will also allow you to view/read new poems posted by your friends.
Rewards for upbuilding community participation.

We just wanted to give you a head’s up. If you have any ideas EMAIL THEM TO US via the Contact Us page so we can archive them. Ideas posted here may not be cataloged.

Also, we’ve updated our Terms and Conditions to provide more protection for our community. Please read it.

Thank you for your time and effort to improve the site. As a person not knowing a lot about computers I sometimes get frustrated in knowing what to do. I WISH POETRYSOUP COULD HELP US TO IDENTIFY OUR FORMS OF POETRY. THERE ARE SO MANY CATEGORIES,THAT EVEN PROFESSIONAL WRITERS HAVE A DIFFICULT NARROWING DOWN WHERE EACH POEM BELONGS. I WANT TO COMPOSE A BOOK. AND I SPEND A LOT OF TIME TRYING TO CATEGORIZE. MUCH APPRECIATION.THANKS...

I speak Ruben-nesque. If I may interpret (this is run through Cyndi-soft(heart)ware, so bare with: TPS, do you appreciate the teachers like Brian, Debbie, Nette on Soup? They have put up many blogs, spend time nurturing poets, giving feedback. I remember when Debbie put up a fantastic blog series teaching meter... Did you thank her? Did you take one moment to say, hey, you make soup what it is and we appreciate you... please, answer. There was a time I thought you were one of us, a poet who saw a need for a community. Now I wonder... please, don't answer me in business-ese. Please use the language of poets. TALK TO US. REALLY TALK TO US. ARE WE SO DIFFERENT?

lol, Poetry Soup, you guys are awesome and kind of sneaky. Yes,.. wooooo hooooo! if TPS, knows what my woo hoo blog is all about. Then I'm tickled pink and, I just fell more in love with The Poetry Soup team. It would be nice to know all 300 poets who favorite me. I'd like to take a day and thank each one personally, and keep them near my heart. Besides like I said in the past, it's not right others can see whom we have on our list....
