Thank you Poetrysoup for making me feel so popular

It seems that along with some of the other snafus I have faced lately here, now PS has decided to send me 4 or 5 notifications when someone comments on one of my poems. Imagine my excitement when I opened my email yesterday morning and found 20+ notifications of people commenting on a poem I posted that night. My first thought, I finally posted something that a lot of other poets really liked. Now imagine my disappointment when I logged in and found that only 4 comments were waiting. Geez...now I have noticed that I also get 4 or 5 notifications if someone sends me a soupmail, but I can't open the mail until the system decides to finish sending me notifications.

Kind of aggravating to say the least. Oh well...life goes on.

I did what Tim did, I have a number of email addresses for all sorts of things, one for ordering stuff online, so I only get spammed on that one, one for PS, and then I have 2 'regular' mail addresses where normal correspondence takes place :)

Turn it off, turn it off. That stuff really clogs up emails!!!

Often they are the only emails I get, so I enjoyed receiving them, just not so many that are identical.

I created a separate email just for soup and it works well...I also have a seperate one I use for ordering things...And another one just for the kids school and activities...It helps

Well, I'd like to correct your first thought Chris, many people like all the poems you have posted, and I am one of them. You are a very gifted poet. :)

They are working on the issue Chris ...I do not have this problem myself so I understand it is irritating to get too many mails about comments than no comments at all:-) hugs Jan xx

i get the same stuff from PS, chris... i wish admin can send only important notices and TPS replies to our queries.. huggs

I get emails from my daughter's school, clubs and activities. Factor in emails for birthday parties, from friends and family and my box can spill over in a day. For this reason, I opted out of PS notifications. The Inboxes here work for me (so far.)

I thought about that but feel I might miss the opportunity to thank someone who comments and I feel if they take the time to say something nice about my poem, the right thing for me to do is say thank you and as well, here on soup, if you wait too long, that thank you could easily be lost in crowd. The notifications have never been a problem up until now. Thanks for your suggestion
